Bates) supplied the following at aoon to-day:—The indications are for northerly winds, moderate to strong, and freshening; -weather cold and showery,; barometer fading; sea moderate swell, tides good. SAlLED.—August 10. Oreti, s.s. (3.05 p.m.), 174 tons, Murray, for Invercargill. SAlLED.—August, 11. Tongariro, s.s. (7.40 a.m.}, 8,728 tons, V. C, "White-Parsons, for New Plymouth. ARRIVED.—August 11. Storm, s.s. (4.45 a.m,), 749 tons, Manson, from Wanganui via porks. Holmdale, s.s. (6.15 a.m.), 681 tons, Cliff, from Wanganui and Wellington. Katoa, s.s. (7.40 a.m.), 2,484 tons, Ross Clarke, from Auckland via ports. The Storm and the Holmdale will sail to-night for "Wanganui and way ports. The Katoa arrived this morning from Auckland via ports, and will sail tomorrow for Auckland and way ports. Included in her cargo were transhipments ex the steamers Maheno, Kaiapoi, and Tahiti. The Wirral left Wellington yesterday afternoon for Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete discharge of her Montreal cargo. She is due on Sunday, 'flic Gale is expected on Friday from Wanganui via ports to load for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. She will sail the same day. The Kamo, bringing coal from Westport via Bluff, is due about Friday. After discharge she will load for Napier and Gisborne via ports. The City of Shanghai will sail tomorrow morning for Newcastle to finish discharging. The ? sorfolk will leave Port Chalmers on Friday afternoon for Lyttelton and New Plymouth. The S.S. and ,A. L inc si earner Matatua, which arrived at Oama.ru on July 2(1 for Homeward loading, 101 l Wellington to-day for London via Cape Horn. The Manuka is in drydock at Port Chalmers being prepared lor recommission. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Maori, from W’ellington, arrived at Lyttelton at G. 50 a.m. to-day, and passengers and mails connected witu the 12.20 p.m, express. TONGARIRO SAILED. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s Tongariro, alter continuing loading, left Port Chalmers this morn-

ing for New Plymouth to complete discharge and to continue loading. She will sail from Auckland on about September 1 for London via Panama. Transhipments cx the Tongariro from London came to hand per the Calm, 11A RANG A AT LONDON. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion fane steamer Raranga, which left Wellington on May 27 for Genoa, Havre, and London .via Cape Horn, arrived at London on August 0. TUB SITTANG’S MOVICMENTH. The C. and D. Line’s chartered steamer Sittang was to leave Lyttelton this afternoon; and is due to-mor-row morning to finish unloading New York cargo. Site will sail about Friday for Westport to bunker. RUAHINE 'I7ISFT~CURACAO. The New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the Ruahino arrived at and left Curacao on August 9. The liner left Wellington on July 17, and is duo at Southampton on August 21. CITY OF NEWCASTLE. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Go. advise that tho City of Newcastle left New York on August 4 tor Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin, and Bluff. Tho steamer is due at Auckland about September 11, and here about September 25. PORT CAMPBELL TO-MORROW. The C. and D. Line steamer Port Campbell was to leave Bluff this afternoon. and is due at Port Chalmers tomorrow morning to load meat and general cargo for London. She will probably sail on Friday for Timaru to continue loading. VESSELS IN WIRELESS CALL. The following vessels are expected to be within range of the undermentioned wireless stations to-night:— Auckland. Ngakuta, Anrangi, H.M.S. Diomede, 11.M.5. Veronica, H.M.S.
