AMATEUR ATHLETICS. OLYMPIC COUNCIL MEETING. At a meeting of the New Zealand Olympic Council last night Messrs Bundle, Heenan, and Travers were appointed to report on the question of constitution and reorganisation. The Governor-General is to bo invited to become patron, the Chief Justice vice-patron, and the Prime Minister president. Affiliated associations are to be asked to give in the names of athletes who at present are considered up to Olympic standard and those likely to reach Olympic standard by 1928. Tho New Zealand Cricket Council was congratulated upon its invitation received from tho M.C.C., and a letter is to be sent hoping the efforts to send a team to England will he successful. Rapine, Star Ranger, Joy King, Expanse, and Dishonored arrived by. the Ulimaroa in good condition. BOXING. CASEY BEATS JAMITO. Salvino Jamito, the Filipino, and Harry Casey (Australia) met for the second time in New Zealand at Invercargill last night. The purse was £195, being the largest so_ far offered in Invercargill. Tho decision was in favor of Ca-sey on points, after a hard-fought, clean, and exciting bout. Jamito led for the first few rounds, but Casey gradually took tho lead, until the Filipino was badly outpointed during the last rounds. The verdict was a popular one. Jamito was slightly handicapped by an injured eye, which he received in a previous encounter.
