SHEEP CHEAPER, PIGS DEARER. At Burnside to-day sheep eased about ' -s per head; fat and store pigs ad- j vanced 3s and 5s respectively. Prices I changed little for other lines. Sheep.—An entry of 2,485, comprising a good selection of wethers, with | odd pennings of very fair ewes and I some plain wethers. The demand fluctuated slightly, and there was fairly ] brisk competition at the middle of the sale. There was a general decline, | prices easing by from Is to about 2s as the sale progressed. Prices: Extra heavy wethers, 41s 6d to 4Ss; prime, 31s to 365; unfinished, 27s to 295; heavy ewes, 26s to 30s 3d; lighter, 20s 9d to 23s (id. Fat Hoggets.—A penning of 275 of from medium to very fair qualify. Values were very similar to the previous week’s, and the demand was erate. Prices: Best hoggets, 25s to 275; medium, 23s to 24s 3d; unfinished, to 21s 6d. Fat Cattle.—A yarding of 240. The supply was of a fair number of prime heifers and cows, and a moderate number of heavy ami light prime bullocks. A few cattle of both sexes lacked finish. The opening demand seemed to indi- I ■ cate a decline later. Prices: Prime heavy bullocks, £lB to £l9 10s; light prime, £l4 5s to £l6; medium, £9 15s to £11; prime heifers, £9 to £l2; medium, £7 to £8 ss; prime cows, £7 10s to £9 'ss.

Storo “attic.—About 100 wore yarded. The small entry was of medium quality, made up practically of fair cows, but including two or thrco pens of medium two-year-old steers. Tho latter met with good inquiry, and made to £5 17s 6d. Yearlings realised from £3 Is to £3 16s. Pigs.—A penning of eighty fats and thirty-six stores. Prices: Heavy bao oners, £5 5s to £6 l.s; light, £4 30s to £5; heavy porkers, £3 10s to £3 15s; light from £3. Fats wore up about 3s per head, and stores, for which competition was very keen,, .advanced os.
