Surrey match the former in their first innings made 146 (Fenley five wickets for 56), and in their second 302 (Fenley (six for 92). Surrey: First innings 231 (Fender 82, Larwood four for 52); second innings, 218 for four wickets (Sandham 92, Hobbs 60). Surrey won by six wickets. Hampshire v. Kent.—Hampshire first innings 144 (Freeman (five for 43), second 439 (Mead not out 175, Parker 156). Kent first innings 412 (Hardinge 117, Woolley 67, Chapman 136; Newman five for 156); second innings 172 for one wicket (Woolley not out 62, Chapman not out 81). Kent won by nine wickets. In the Lancashire v. Yorkshire match the former in their first innings scored 509 for nine wickets, declared (Makepeace 126, E. Tyldesley 139, Watson 92; Rhodes seven for 116). Yorkshire first innings 352 (Holmes 143, Sutcliffe 89). The match was drawn. In the Middlesex v. Susses match the former in their first innings scored 483 for seven wickets, declared (Dales 61, Bruce 64, Hendren 77, Enthoven not out 100). Sussex: First innings 259 (Duleepsiuhji 132; Haig seven for 54); second innings 216 (Bovrley 50, Tate 56; Durston five for 68). Middlesex won by an innings and 8 runs. For Derby against Warwick Bowden made 106. Lee took sis for 76. For Warwick Quaife took five for 81. The match was drawn. For Somerset against Gloucester White took five for 66, and for Gloucester Mills three for 15, and Parker seven for 85. Somerset won. For Northants against Leicester Timms scored 112 not out.
