HIHBU'MOSLEM CLASH POLICE FIRE OX CROWD. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright DELHI, July 8. A serious inier-commuiuil situation has arisen at Pahna, 200 miles from Calcutta, following a clash between Hindus and Mohammedans over tho desecration of Hindu idols. As a result the Mohammedans looted the Hindu shops and houses. Tho _ disturbance spread to tho outlying villages. The Mohammedans surrounded tho police and attempted to rescue their co-roli-gionists, upon which the police fired, wounding some. Indian troops are going to Pahna.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
