Tho Opihi will load at Westport on Thursday for Bluff and Dunedin. The Kurow will sail this evening ior Lvttclton, Wellington, and Auckland. 'The Katoa loft Auckland yesterday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Timarn. The Kaitoke arrived at Lyttelton on Wednesday morning Imm Newcastle with a load of coal for discharge. The vessel is expected to have her cargo discharged by Tuesday, after which she will load produce for Sydney. She will sail from Lyttelton on Thursday next for Tirnaru and Oamaru, where she will continue her loading. Laden with a cargo of phosphates, tho chartered .steamer Mansion felt Makatea Island for Auckland on Saturday. The vessel, which has 4.00(1 tons for discharge at Auckland is due to arrive about July 15. Later she will proceed to Australian ports. THE FERRY SERVICE. Tho Maori, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.T5 a.m. to-day, and passengers and mails connected with the 8.50 a.m. express. PICTON-WELLINGTON SERVICE. The Union Company has chartered the Ngaio for the purpose of relieving tho Tamahine in tho Pirion-Wellingtnn service during the next two or three months. This lias heroine necessary on account of ihe heavy 1 alling-off in the passenger traffic, consequent on the advent of the winter season, and advantage will ho taken of the opportunity to put the. Tamnliino through her periodical overhaul, The Ngaio was recently temporarily withdrawn from the Wellingtnn-Neison run on account of the seasonal slackness of trade, and has since undergone survey and overhaul. She will commence running on Monday, July 12, and will leave Wellington at ll p m. on .Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, returning from Picton at the same hour on the following evenings, WEST CONOR DUE FRIDAY. The Swayno and Hoyt. Line sfcanv-r West Conoii, which is now at 'Wellington. is due at Lyttelton early next week and at. Dunedin about July 16 to discharge the balance of her general cargo from Pacific ('oast ports. PERSONAL. Mr 0. C. Bray has replaced Mr T. A. MncPhcrson as second officer of the Maunganni, and Mr L. A. English is now fourth officer of the same vessel, having succeeded Mr A. J. Mat liesou. Messrs P. Chappell and C. Dickson have joined the Maunganni as purser and assistant purser rcspocfivoly in succession to Messrs 0. S. Cdloii and F. G. Bagiev, i Mr A. 11. Fisk is now second mate [ of tho Ngaio vice Mr W.
