AUCKLAND, June 15. In tho Supremo Court John Ewart, who pleaded guilty to forgery atPapnkura while an employee of a bank, was sentenced to be detained at Waikona for reformative treatment lor a period not exceeding two years. Mr Justice Stringer said the prisoner was a. young unmarried man u! lair education ami of considerable ability, lie was in a position of trust, and received a substantial salary, lie stole from bis employers a considerable sum and then fled from Now Zealand with the proceeds of his dishonesty. His crime was designed and deliberate, and was carried into efloct by a very cralty forgery.
