DUKE OF YORK

SIR JAMES ALIEN'S INVITATION ENTIRELY IMPROMPTU. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, June 10. Sir James Allen states that his invitation to the Duke of York was entirely impromptu. It was not suggested or inspired by the assumption that the Duke of York would probably be opening the Federal capital, and that this naturally suggested a visit to Now Zealand. Tho_ Duke of York’s prepared speech did not contain a reference to the visit to either Australia or Now Zealand. In a single sentence the hope that he would visit New Zealand was interpolated.— A..and N.Z. Cable.
