TRAIN ACCIDENT
SOUTH AFRICAN DISASTER FIFTEEN PEOPLE KILLED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. CAPE TOWN, June 9. (Received June 10, at 1.25 p.m.) A terrible disaster to a suburban express train occurred a few miles outside Cape Town. When the train was turning round a bend at Salt River Junction one of the coaches jumped the rails and the side was torn out as the car was dragged along the platform. Another coach was reduced to matchwood. The most distressing scenes were witnessed. So far as is known, fifteen people are dead, including Mr Justice Malcolm Searle. About fifty people were injured, many being in a critical condition.—Sydney ‘ Sun ’ Cable.
