■ At a conference to consider agricultural matters, attended by representatives of all the States, a _ motion in favor of stabilising the dairy industry by setting up butter and cheese boards in each State, to act in collaboration with each other and with the Federal Dairy Produce Control Board, was discussed. One delegate said that as the result of tho stabilisation scheme, for the first time in many years local prices were 9s 6d per owt (or Id per lb) higher than the London price. Furthermore, comparing the beginnings of 1926 and 1925, prices in the overseas market were about on a par, but local prices were 6d per lb higher in 1926. The motion was finally agreed to.
