Owing to Hie shortage ol coal the inter-State passenger steamers Katnnmha and Zcainndia will be laid up when they reach Sydney. The Queensland passenger services will lie continued on a limited scale, the steamers being able to secure bunkers at Brisbane. Additional cargo steamers are also being laid up. There is no apparent prospect, of an earlv settlement of the coal trouble. Both sides are standing firm. The Miners’ Delegate Board meets to-morrow, and the Engine Drivers’ executive is to meet daily till the dispute ends.
