THILLING CHASE

HUNDREDS OF POLICE. DARING BANDITS. LONDON, March 4. Hundreds of police on foot, in motor ciydes. and in motor cars took part in a most thrilling all-night chase after five motor bandits, who leapt into a standing motor car at Birmingham and went full speed for Droitwich. They had smashed shop windows, stolen a cash register, and assaulted a bystander. They drove_ on for thirty miles, and raided the railway buffet at Aschnrch, Gloucestershire. Then, cut off by the cordon of police, they raced back to Birmingham, terrorising the villagers at Northfield by smashing windows. Finally they abandoned the motor car, and escaped into the fields. Two were arrested.
