Both packs made fine rushes. The Welsh forwards heeled out better than their opponents. After twenty-live minutes’ desperately-bavcl play Stephenson kicked a penalty goal for Ireland, and just before the interval Hopkins obtained a try for Wales. Rees converted. The next minute Hanrahnn got a try for Ireland, and Stephenson converted. Half-time; Ireland 8 to 5. In the second spell the Welsh forwards opened in a most dashing way, and Herrara scored a try, which was not converted.
