DRUIDISM

The fortnightly meeting of the Pride of Mornir.gton Lodge was held on Thursday, A.D. Bro. Bartlett presiding over a fair attendance of officers and brethren. An apology was received from the A’.A., Bro. MTvowan. who was unable to attend. D.P. Bro. Reid, P.D.R. Bro. Wilson, ami Bro. Woodcock were welcomed. Included in the correspondence were two letters Irom Bros. C. R. Robertson and G, M. Stevenson (Auckland). Bro. E. L. Birt (secretary) gave a very interesting account of the Grand Lodge visit to the new lodge in Matnura. The usual toasts wore duly honored, and responded to hr tho visitors.

Tho meeting of All Nations Lodge was presided over by A.D. Bro, M'Kcnzie. Tho routine business was duly carried out and sick pay passed for payment. It was decided to .accept West Harbor's challenge to compete for the euchre .shield. It was also decided to run monthly old-time dances dining the winter months. A letter of sympathy was forwarded to a brother who had suffered the loss of his father. A.D. Bro. Cursey presided over (he meeting of Enterprise Lodge, and-thero was a good attendance. Three members were duly initiated, the ceremony being well carried out. P.D.P. Bro. Ockwell resigned his position as G.L. representative, and P.D.P. Bro. 8. A. Workman was appointed in his> place. The star item of the evening was a scaled handicap competition for the best rendering of the V.A. charge. There were fen competitors, and all gave a. good rendering. The winner proved to bo Bro. 8. A. Workman, who was giving away 30 points’ handicap, and who narrowly defeated his father (Bro. A. T. Workman) by 1 point. Tho prize, donated by the A.D, (Bro. Cursor), was duly presented lo the winner, and 'he gcner-.aisly handed it oi'or to the Syllabus Committee, ft was also decided to play Hie Bay Lodge for tho euchre shield at next meeting. Welcome visitors were P.D.P. Bro. Ralston and P.A. Bro. BnrtlcU.

Bay Lodge held its fortnightly meeting on 'Tuesday. when A.D. Bro. Napier presided over’ a fair number of members. Mistletoe Lodge paid an official visit, and was received with musical honors. Bro. D, Reid, D.P. of No. 2 District, paid an official visit, and was received with the usual honors. Lengthy correspondence was dealt, with, including the Grand Lodge order paper, each remit being well discussed and dealt with. One candidate was proposed by P.D.P. Bro. Wilson for initiation. .During the evening a game of quoits was played between sides from the Mistletoe ’ami Bay Lodges, the game resulting in a win for Mistletoe. During the month the lodge held a Vice-Arch charge competition for A.D. Bro. Napier’s trophy, the winner being I.G. Bro. A. Cursey. who gave a splendid rendering. 'The usual loyal toasts were given and responded to by Bro. Smith,' D.P. Bro. I). Reid, and Sister Wilson (who is always a welcome visitor. on behalf of the Queen of the Oak, Christchurch.)
