Particular mention was made of the Council’s aid in giving the use of the table tons and trestle.—-Received, The offioe of the Chief Inspector of Explosives wrote advising the council of the charged position in regard to petrol storage and handling, caused by the importation of petrol in hulk instead of in tins by the oil companies. The department aws strongly in favor of underground tank storage of petrol, and the council was asked to give sympathetic consideration to any applications for permission to erect curbside pumps.—Received. The Medical Officer of Health (Mr J. H. Crawshaw) wrote advising that the matter of stagnant water lying in an open ditch at Victoria road, Tahuna Park, was receiving the department’* attention. —Received. , The secretary cf the Auckland Artillery Band wrote asking permission for the band to give a musical programme at St. Kilda on February 28, and to take up a collection.—Granted, provided the concert was given in tb afternoon. .
