WIRELESS HOAX

JOKERS IN AMERICA

Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright

NEW YORK, February 1. Radio fakers in all parts of the United .States, who announced themselves as broadcasting stations from Australia to Russia, had the time of their lives at the expense of the listening “fans” during the international broadcasting test last week, fully 2d per cent, of the persons reporting to the tost officials that they had heard distant stations being the victims of practical jokers a few blocks away. Mr L. A. Nixon, of the Radio Week Committee, cited instances of the hoaxes perpetrated on innocent listeners. One person announcing himself as Lyons, France, was heard as far east as Bermuda, but the important point was overlooked that Lyons does not broadcast in Tennessee. —A. amd N.Z Cable.
