HOSPITAL BOARD VACANCY.
TO TTTE EDITOR. Sir, —1 would like to draw attention in the fact of the vacancy on the Otago Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, caused by the death of Mrs Jackson, not having been filled. The deceased lady had endeared herself by her humanitarian actions towards the weak and the suffering, and was hold in great respect by nil sections of the community. I would like to suggest that this would bn a fitting opportunity of recognising the services rendered by a previous lady representative on the board who by a margin of about twenty votes failed’ to secure re-election. 1 think that every endeavor should be made to get Airs I. Iv. Maefie to give her consent to nomination or appointment. Jf it is in order, the mayor and city councillors should be asked to take up this question of filling the vacancy. —I am, etc., Recognition. Cavorsham, January 8.
