(Received January 9, at ,10.15 a.m.) Tho Premier (Air Lang) announced definitely that he has decided to close tho Sydney Mint, which has been a losing proposition for years. In future all the coinage will bo minted at Melbourne, and subsequently at Canberra, when the Federal capital is established there. Mr Lang has a scheme for building a row of Government, buildings, extending from the Mitchell Library to the Registrar-General’s office, including the building of an up-to-date Parliament Rouse, "and tho removal of the Sydney Hospital from its present site. _ _ __ Tho scheme will cost in tho vicinity of £1,000,001).
