NEW YORK, December Every year the number of students who take the theological course at American universities grows smaller. Professor Nicholas Puller, president of Columbia University, deplores the decrease in the number ol theological students. Uo attributes it to the widespread intolerance in religions matters. Ho also blames the pathetic chara actor of recent theological disputes among denominations. Professor Butler considers that the Protestant dor©' in America arc becoming illiterate.
