The directors of the Dominion Building Society have arranged for the second* ballot to be held on Thursday, January 28. The amount to bo balloted will be determined early next month. GORDON AND GOTCH, LTD. FJGTTT PER GENT. DIVIDEND. Gordon and Gotcb (Australasia), Ltd,, in its report for the, half-year ended SeptembeV JO, after providing £9,6.11 for taxation, shows a profit of £38,209, compared with £46,215 .for the previous half-year, and with £23,437 for the corresponding six months of 1924. With £516 brought forward, a sum of £38,726 is available. A dividend at the rate of 8 per cent, per annum on preference shares absorbs £4,000, and at the same rate ono on ordinary shares accounts for £16,000. A sum of £14,000 is transferred to reserve, and £4,000 is allocated to reserve for contingencies, leaving £726 to bo carried forward. The report states that the business continues to make satisfactory progress, notwithstanding that the seamen’s strike adversely affected trading. A tender has been received for the erection of a warehouse in Brisbane. A recent issue of 100,000 ordinary shares was fully subscribed, and at November 30 £87,416 was paid. A staff .assurance fund has been approved.
