WIRTH BROS.' CIRCUS
Wirth Bros.’ huge combination of circius and menagerie will open in Dunedin on Monday December 21, for five nights only at the location on the Main Highway near the Exhibition (matinees Wednesday and (Saturday). Accustomed as city audiences aro to being thrilled by the most unexpected sensations, the season which the worldfamous circus has just concluded in Sydney and Melbourne has; undoubtedly eclipsed all its predecessors. Sensation follows sensation in this season’s programme with bewildering rapidity. A seal act that reveals heights in animal training hitherto tindrearab of, heads the bill, while another “out of the bag ” is Torolli’s miniature circus of performing ponies, dogs, monkeys, and mules. A. great act is that of the Honey Sisters (human butterflies and dental performers), Miss Eileen May (lady elephant trainer), and Captain Mooney, are other stars, and the reappearance of Mr P, Wirth after an absence of ton years is an event. Space precludes detailing the many star performers that figure on this season’s programme, the great majority haring found their place there as the result of Mr Wirth’s selections during his recent world tour. The large Zoo is open from 4 to 5 p.m. each clay, when the animals will he fed. Wirth Bros.’ Band is now in charge of Hughie M'Mabon, the Emperor of the Cornet. The box plan is a.t The Bristol.
