A meeting of the Dunedin and Mosgiel members of the Taieri Aloiuh (iinenities Society was held on Wednesday evening, Mr P. Jf. Priest presiding. The meeting was held for the purpose of making some preliminary arrangements for functions to be held at Taieri Mouth during the holiday season. It was decided to spend up to £5 on fireworks for the New Year’s hive display, and a like sum on toys for the sports on New Year’s Day. It was doomed to hold the annual meeting of the society on January 2. Notice ol motion was given to alter Rule 3, so as to allow the financial year to close on November 30 of each year. The subcommittee in charge reported that the Public Hall bad been engaged by the society for entertainments on December 20 and January 1. A sub-commit-tee was appointed to confer with the Lawrence and Milton representatives ol the society as to the sports programme for New Year’s Day. It is hoped that this programme will be oi a comprehensive nature, and will include a baby show.
