In the House of Commons Mr Baldwin read the text of the League’s Iraq decision. He explained that the Cabinet was confident that the actual period of the mandate would be tar loss than twenty-five years. It involved no responsibility to spend money or to keep troops in Iraq for the purpose of maintaining order or against external aggression.
