NEW YORK, December 16. Wall street Ls declaring a Christmas dividend of 5l),00U,()00dol on its prosperity after the most active year in tlie street’s history. The dividends will be distributed in tiio form of stock or money as bonuses to the employees of Stoelc .Exchange lirras, banks, investment houses, and law offices in recognition of Liio employees’ on-operation in meeting the press of business during the year.
The distribution follows the largest amount of new financing by Now York during any year. The Stock Exchange established a new record in trading, having almost continuously a bullish tinge throughout the year. The average prices of representative bonds advanced to the highest levels in history. More than a thousand of the employees receiving the bonuses will also profit on the stocks bought during the year, as many important _ corporations declared largo extra dividends, ttie totals of which aggregate 100,000,000d0i. —A. and N.Z.
