NO EATING OF BUNS
RULE FOR BUS DRIVERS. London bus drivers are formally commanded not to eat buns while steering their cars through the crowded streets of the city, A circular to this effect lias been issued from the offices of the bus company. “ The front of a public service vehicle in crowded traffic is not the place for bun eating,” it reads. “ l\ T o driver can do his job properly and look' out for passengers if he is half choked with food.” Bus conductorsr also have been ordered to refrain from whiVling and singing, and the conductors have made a protest, alleging that “ high-hrow ” passengers complain because the men generally whistle and sing ragtime. “If we preferred grand opera to popular music it would be all right with these lang-haired folks with pale faces that can’t stand to have real live folks enjoy themselves,” one disgusted conductor explained.
