Since Siki defeated Carpeutier he was continually mentioned in the Tress as a result of his escapades. In July last he was stabbed in the same vicinity, after which deportation proceedings were instituted against him.
The police believe that Siki’s loudness for women caused his murder by a rival.
Siki had several managers, none of whom could manage him, and bus white wife was no more successful. One police official expressed the opinion that the shooting was clue to an unpremeditated street brawl, saying that “ Ninth avenue,” where the murder occurred, “is the gateway to the socalled Hell's Kitchen, and no place for a man to push another off the sidewalk, which was one of Siki’s favorite tricks.”—A. and N.Z.
