Michael’s Manor, St. Albans, England, ! ook place at St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral this afternoon before a very large gathering. The ceremony was performed by the Bishop of Wellington, assisted by Archdeacon A. M. Johnson, Vicar of St. Paul’s, and the Rev. E. K. Fry, Vicar of St. Mark’s. The bridesmaids were Miss Orr Ewing, cousin of ■Mje bride (chief), and two smaller maids -Miss El fie Reed, daughter of the Hon, Vernon Reed, M.L.C., and Mrs Reed; and Miss Margaret Peters, daugh ter of Commander A. M. Peters (H.M.S. Dunedin) and Mrs Peters. The best man was Mr David J. Eeswick, assistant private secretary to the Governor-General. There was naturally great interest and excitement over the wedding, and what seemed like the better part of Wellington assembled to see the pretty frocking. This is the first wedding of the kind to take place in New Zealand, for all the daughters of former Governors have been married at the other end of the world. A largely-attended reception was held at Government House.
