(Received October 6, at 1.10 p.m.) The West Ham Board of Guardians rejected the Ministry of Health’s offer of a loan to enable the Guardians to cany on their functions, provided that they agreed to reductions in the maximum scale of relief. The Guardians had previously rejected an amendment that a ballot be taken at the relief stations to ascertain the will of the unemployed and all in receipt of relief.—Reuter.
