ITALIAN SUBMARINE
RAMMED BY STEAMER. Preis Association — By Telegraph—Copyright, ROME, October 1. An inquiry revealed unexpectedly that tho submarine Sebastiano was rammed by tho Italian steamer Capena. This information was conveyed in a letter from an officer on tho Capena and confirmed by an examination of tho bottom of the vessel, which has now been docked at T..union. I bo captain has been suspended until it is ascertained why bo did not report tho ramming.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
[Early in August the submarine Vaneiro Sebastiano foundered oft' Capo Passero during manoeuvres. The vessel had a crew on board numbering fifty-five.]
