YOUNG MAN CHARGED [Per United Press Association. 1 AUCKLAND, October 2. While patrolling his boat along Queen street about 3.30 p.m. on Sunday, SepConstable’Needham received a complaint about a man parading the street dressed up as a woman. As a sequel to the incident a young man named K. J. Dell appeared before Mr J. W. Boynton, S.M., at tiio Police Court this morning on a charge of behaving in a disorderly manner in Queen street. Constable Needham said he found Dell walking, along the street dressed in female attire and wearing a woman’s shoes, hat, veil, and neck scurf. Doll was attempting to disrobe when witness first saw him. Accused: You were in plain clothes. Tho Constable: Yes; that’s so. But I told you who 1 was. Dell ; Did I not tell you that I had to meet a gentleman at the Strand Theatre that night? Constable Needham: Yes. Yon said something about it. Dell: I was about to pull my white trousers clown to move up my silk socks. —Yes. Dell: And T took ray hat off.—Yes. At this stage ; on the application of Dell, the hearing of tho charge was adjourned. October 3. Dell did not appear in the Police Court when called on this morning, his counsel stating that he had met with an accident, and been taken to hospital. Tho police stated that they did not think accused intended any harm. The magistrate (Mr Cntten) dismissed the charge on the payment of 10s expenses.
