A B!Q CONVENTION [Pen United Press Association.] AVELLINGTON, September 22 ; Tho annual meeting and convention of tho Now Zealand Motor Trade Association and tho AA holosalo Alotor and Cvclo Traders’ Association opened today. Over 200 delegates from all parts of tho dominion attended. Air G. H. Scott, who is joint chairman with Air L. Troleavon, welcomed the delegates, who included many ladies. Cr Lnekio, deputy-mayor, extended a welcome on behalf of the mayor, who was unable to attend. Ho referred to the great influence of motor transport on modern life, and said that it had imposed new duties on local authorities for tho provision of good permanent roads. Tho Hon. G. J. Anderson, Minister of Interna] Affairs, referred to glaring headlights as one of tho worst dangers of the road, especially on bitumen. Roth parties, he said, should dim when passing.
