SMOKE SOCIAL

ZINGAHI FOOTBALL SLOB There was a large attendance at the annual smoke social of the ZingariRichmoud Football Chib, held in Kroon’s Hall last evening. Mr AV. Brown occupied the chair. The Chairman heartily welcomed the members of the O.R.F.U. and of sister clubs. He said that the first grade team had been fourth in the flag competition, and that the second grr C team wore the runners-up in the B section. The third grade team had won its banner. The fourth, fifth, and sixth_ grades were high up in their respective divisions. A number of very successful social evenings, to which other club members had been invited, were held during the year. Air Procter, in proposing the toast of “The Otago Rugby Football Union,” said ho considered that they had men at the head of affairs who were out to foster the amateur game. Messrs H. H. S. White and J. King, in replying to the toast, congratulated the club upon its successful season. The toast of “The Zingari-Riohmond Football Chib ” was proposed by Air W. Ross, who also congratulated the club, and said that he had always found its members sportsmen. Air AV. Brown replied to this toast. Air R. Procter proposed the toast of “ Sister . Clubs,” which was responded to by several representatives. Other toasts were “ Referees’ Association,” “ St. John Ambulance Association,” and “ Club Coaches.” Presentations of caps and medals were made to the following Caps, first grade, Alessrs R. AVildgoose and AA 7 . Brooks; medal. Air C. Al'Ewan. Caps, second grade, Alessrs G. Lowric and A. Parsons; medal, Air AI. AValsh. Presentations were also made to the club trainer (Air AA 7 . AA’hite) and to las wife, Mr AA 7 hite receiving a safety razor and Airs AVhite a handbag. During the evening several musical items were given. Those contributing to the programme were:—Pianoforte selection, Air B. Collie; songs—-Messrs AT. Duff, C. AValsh, Percy James, and j. AVhite; ventriloquial item, Air Gilchrist.
