DRAMATIC ANNOUNCEMENT PARLIAMENT TO BE DISSOLVED MR BRUCE’S CONVICTION. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, Australian and N.Z. Press Association. MELBOURNE, September 18. In the House of Representatives, the Prime Minister (Mr Bruce) announced that the Governor-General had accepted certain advice tendered to him, and he (the Prime Minister) was authorised to inform the House that the GovernorGeneral proposed to dissolve Parliament as soon as the necessary Supply was granted and the tariff schedule validated. The announcement was greeted with cheers from both sides of the House. Mr Matthew Charlton (tiro Leader of the Opposition) said that his party w’ould facilitate Mr Bruce’s act in going to the country, and give Supply immediately. He added that the farce going on before the Deportation Board would have to bo placed before the people. Mr Bruce, in moving the adjournment, said that he had a deep conviction that it was desirable that the people should express their opinion whether they desired that Australia should be governed by Parliament or by outside influences, and whether they desired to see law and order maintained in the community. The House adjourned till Wednesday. ELECTION BEFORE CHRISTMAS. MELBOURNE, September 18. At a hastily-convened meeting of the Federal Nationalist and Country Parties, Mr Bruce asked members to hold themselves in readiness lor the election before Christmas. Polling clay would probably be November 21.
