I have not abandoned hope of going, but I will not attempt tq. proceed with the deputation, but will endeavor to go to America nevertheless.” Some of Mr Saklatvala’s luggage has already been forwarded. He had also resigned the position of departmental manager of the firm with which he is associated. The ‘Daily Express,’ an an editorial, states; “Another martyr has been created by tbo refusal of Mr Saklatvala’s visa. It would have been better not to take this muddle-bead crank seriously. It would have been more effective to allow Americans to hear the kind of ‘ tosh ’he puts forth. The wise course is to treat suchlike woolly-headed gasbags with pitying indifference.” —A. and N.Z. Cable. DECISION ADHERED TO. WASHINGTON, September 17. The State Department, despite protests, does not intend to reverse its decision banning Mr Saklatvala from tbe country. The Civil Liberties Union of New York protested to Mr Kellogg (Ambassador in London), and cabled to Mr Saklatvala offering legal aid to test the ruling.
