An Auckland doctor, whoso name was ordered to bo suppressed, was charged in the Police Court, _ and pleaded guilty to being drunk while in charge of a motor car. Mr Poynton, S.M imposed a sentenco of three days imprisonment. Defendant’s counsel-pleaded for a fine, as in the case last week of another professional man. Mr Povntou: Yes, he was fined £2, but he damaged his car to the tune of £35. Eventually lie reconsidered th» matter and imposed a fine of £*£ in the case.
