C Rates) supplied the following at noon to-day:— The indications are ior easterly winds, moderate to strong, and freshening; weather cloudy and unsettled, rain probable; barometer falling; sea rough, tides good. ARRIVED. —September 12. Holmdale, s.s. (3.20 p.m.), 681 tons, Williams, from Wanganui and Wellington. The Knrow was expected to leave Lyttelton to-day for Dunedin. She, will load out on Wednesday for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Opilii left Now Plymouth at 5 p.m. on Saturday. She is due here tonight or to-morrow morning, and loads out to-morrow for Oamaru, Tiraaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth. The Waikonaiti was expected to leave Sydney to-day lor Bluff, Dunedin, Lyt-. telton, and Timaru. The Kaitangala was expected to leave Adelaide to-day for Dcvonport and Melbourne to complete loading for Auckland and Wellington. The Waitemata is duo at 5 nneonver from Suva about September 18. Alter discharge of her cargo of sugar, she is to load at Raciiic Coast ports late this month and early next month for Papeete!, Napier, and New Plymouth. The Pinna arrived at Auckland on September 5 from Singapore. The vessel discharged about 50,000 cases of oil at Auckland, and she will put out. the remainder (46,000 cases) at Atellington. The Pinna also has a quantity of hulk oil which will probably be discharged at .Sydney. The Wanaka is to leave Auckland to-morrow with general cargo ior discharge at Napier, Wellington, Dunedin, and Blnli. The Karori was expected to leave Westport on Saturday with a cargo of coal for discharge at Oamaru and Dunedin. She is due hero towards the end of the week, and after discharge will load general cargo lor Westport and Grey month.

The Storm is dun at Dunedin to-mor-row from Bluff to load lor Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The Ulimaroa is dm; at Sydney tomorrow from Auckland. She is timed to leave the New South Wales port on Friday for Wellington, where she is due on September 22. The Maliono is due at Auckland tomorrow from Sydney with _ passengers, mails, and cargo. She is timed to sail at 11 a.m. on Friday on the return voyage. The Canadian Prospector cleared Montreal on August 25 lor New Zealand East Coast ports to and to load general cargo for Now York. Bos I on, Montreal, and inland points, in the United Slates and Canada. Tin; Rotorua, from London, sails from Soufhamtpon on September 25 for Wellington, where she is due on October 31. Auckland is her next port of call. The steamer At boll, which left Dunedin cm Wednesday for Australia, has been diverted to AVcstport ior bunkers. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Maori, from AVellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.55 n.m. yesterday, and passengers and .mails came, south by the 8.51) a.m. express to-day. PERSONAL. Air S. E. Gaskin lias joined the Ngaknta as chief oflicer, relieving Mr 1-f A. Cox for holidays. Air A. AV. Port, extra chief officer of the Karel u, has signed off the vessel. Air AV J. Berryman has_ been appointed ehiel officer of the AA anaka. AL- W. J. Freeman, who has been on leave, lias now joined the AVaihora as second officer, relieving Air J. Hare for holidays. AlC’ E. .T. Broughton has been appointed third officer of tho Wingatni. Air B. AVilson has joined the Opilii as purser. Air J G. Henderson, wireless operator of tho Ngaio, has been relieved bv Air H. Bacon. Air A. " O’Donohne has joined the Holmdale as third engineer, vice Mr J. AC Lean. AV AIK AAV A DELAYED. Tho Waikawn. on her way from Singapore and Samarang via Bun bury and' 3 Hobart, was expected outside the Heads this morning. Bad weather has. however, delayed her. She was not due at the Heads till 4.30 this afternoon. The. AVaikawa has a cargo of assorted freight from Singapore and Samarang, and timber from Bunbnry and Hobart. STEAMERS HELD UP. Waiting a settlement of the seamen’s strike, the steamers Waimann and Matakana and the Benicia arc at present anchored in tho stream at Auckland. r st-named vessel is fully loaded for New York, Boston, and London, while the Alatakana and Benicia have cargo for discharge at southern ports. The other steamers a fleeted by the strike are the Zinal, now .undergoing inspection in tho dock, and the Kent, winch is under repairs at the King’s wharf. J

SUSSEX DELAYED BY STORM. Stormy weather delayed the Federal Line steamer Sussex on her voyage Irom Calcutta and Singapore,_ and she did not arrive at Auckland till Friday, instead of the previous day. 'The Sussex will unload the Auckland portion ol her cargo, and will then proceed to southern ports to complete discharge. She is due hero on September 23. VESSELS FROAI NEW YORK. The Trofnsis will be due at Auckland on October 3 from New York, and will later visit AVellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The Trcwyn is to sail from New York on September 35 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. She should reach New Zealand about October 20. The Trevosc is to leave New York on September 30 for Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. CANADIAN SPINNER AT AUCKAUCKLAND. The Canadian Spinner arrived at Auckland yesterday from Montreal via Panama. She is laden with general Canadian cargo for discharge, at Auckland, AVellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. Tho vessel is due here about September 22. She will load do,minion products at Lyttelton, Dunedin, AVellington, and Auckland for New York, Boston, and Montreal. THE VANCOUVER MAIL. The Niagara was due at Auckland this morning from Vancouver via Honolulu and Suva, with passengers, mails, and cargo. She is timed to leave the northern port to-night ior Sydney, where she is due on Friday night. KJA ORA FOR LONDON. The Kia Ora, eu route from Bluff to Loudon, cleared Toneriife on September 6 in continuance of her voyage. She was despatched from Bluff on July 29. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. AUCKLAND, September 12.
