DRUIDISM

The fortnightly mcoling of the Pride of Mornington Lodge was held in tlio St. Mary’s Hall, A.D. Brb. K-utherford presiding over a fair attendance of brethren. Tlio CLP. Bro. Churchill, accompanied by the G.T. Bro. Birt, Bros. Sinellie, Laiug, and Rustem (board of management) wore welcomed. D.P. Bro. Reid, who is a regular visitor, was also welcomed. The lodge adjourned for half an hour, to give tho members and visitors an opportunity to have a friendly chat and a cup of tea. On the lodge being resumed, toasts wore honored, and the toast of tho visitors was replied to by G.P. Bro. Churchill, Bros. Smcllie, and Baiston (board of management), and D.P. Bro. Reid. P.A. Bro. Hewitt, in the absenoo of the M.C., said a few words of welcome to the G.P. Linden Lodge met on Tuesday nignt. The initiation of three candidates was carried out, and the lodge adjonnied to carry out tho evening functionnamely,' a fancy dress social. There was a very good attendance of ladies. After supper M.G. Bro. M’Farlane announced the judge’s decision re the fancy costume. Mrs Walker, as an Early Victorian, received the first prize for ladies, and Bro. Hewitt (Pride or Mornington), ns a pierot, for gentlemen. A.D. Bro. Walker presided at the last meeting of Otago Lodge. One candidate was proposed for membership while two candidates _ were initiated, tho Iniation work during the last six months has shown a remarkable improvement, and all wish the A.D. further success in his efforts to improve the workings of his lodge. During the evening D.P. Bro. Faulds paid an official visit. In responding to _ the toast, Bro. Faulds spoko on tho invenile movement. The feature of tl e evening was a Dutch auetiin, earned out by P.A. Bro. Maslin.
