TEXTILE INDUSTRY CONCERNED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, September 9. Tho ‘ Daily Express ’ says that the new Australian tariff is causing consternation among a section ol tho textile industry. A representative of a cotton tweed firm declared that tbo now duties would put up the prices ol his firm’s goods in Australia by nearly 100 per cent. Ho had received cables to cancel tho existing orders. The mamilaciuro of low-grado woollens would be. similarly affected.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
