‘MEXICANO'
A large army of workers is engaged at present preparing for the opening of the carnival in aid of the Dominican Convent, which is to commence at Hi* Majesty’s Theatre on Thursday next, and to continue until September 12. The decorations are to be carried out on a lavish scale, and have been in the hands of a special committee for soma time past. The entertainment is being produced by Mr F. Roade Wauchop, ami a large number of children, ladies, and gentlemen will take part in a spectacular revue ‘ Mexicano,’ which ha* the gay scene of the exterior of a. Mexican cafe as its background. The mayor will perform the opening cero« many.
