TO-MORROW'S FOOTBALL
RUGBY OTAGO v. SOUTHLAND. The return match between Otago and Southland will be played on Cansbrook. The Southland touring team arrived from Timaru by yesterday afternoon s express, and wore mot at the station by representatives of the Otago Rugby Union, after which they proceeded to the Provincial Hotel, where they will he quartered during their stav in Dunedin. The team, which has Mr A. J. Gcddes, an All Black selector, as manager, has already played six matches on tour, having lost three, won two, and drawn one. The Southland forwards are a strong combination. The average weight per man in the scrum is close on List, and the side is captained by “ Jock ” Richardson, the well-known Ah Black vicecaptain. The hacks are a likely lot. The team is an unusually young one, and the big majority of the players are representing their province lor the first time. As a curtain-raiser the final or the second grad© conipei ition will ho played, when Port Chalmers will meet Training College. The box plan is now open at The Bristol, and ground tickets may be obtained from the Sports Depot and Mr S. Jacobs’s. THE TEAMS. .—Southland. — Full-back, G. Cloland. Throe-quarters—N. Three-q uarters— W ohb (U Diversity), Walker (Pirates), Wise (Pirates). Five-eighths—Townsend (Vincent), Pacev (University). Half-back, St. George (Pirates, captain) . Forwards —0. Knox (Alhambra!, Mai loch (Pirates), Sonntag (Kaikorai), M'Meeking (Kaikorai), Pohvarth (Alhambra), Dickson (University), Porritt (University), Pierce (Pirates, wing forward). Reserve backs—Johnston (University), Callender (Kaikorai), Peterson (Southern). Forwards—Dunne (University), M'Millan (Alhambra), M'Ewon (Zingari). Robinson is unable to play, and Walker takes his place at centre. Stevenson, who was suffering from an injury, will now play full-back.
SOCCEP Tho meeting of Old Boys and Seacliff at Culling Park should provide spectators with the best match seen in Dunedin this year. Old Boys have been the only team to extend Seacliff this season, the previous meeting resulting in a draw after a strenuous contest. This match should decjde which team is to secure premiership honors this year. The curtain raiser will be the second grade match Old Boys v. Southern, starting at 1.30.
