CANDIDATES FOR PARLIAMENT
MR L P. LEE TO STAND [Pee United Press Association.] OAMARU, August 20. A large and enthusiastic meeting, representing all parts of the Oamarn electorate, was held to-night, when a unanimous request was made to Mr E. P. Lee to allow himself to be nominated for the Oamarn seat, in the Deform interests. Mr Lee, after reading requests from the late Mr Massey and the present Prime Minister, acceded to the wish of the meeting, Cheers were given for Mr Leo and Sir Coates, and the whole meeting was formed into a committee to work for Mr I. go’s return. MR ARNOLD FOR TIMARU [Per. United Press Association.] TIMARU, August 20. Mr J. F. Arnold is announced ns a candidate for the Timaru scat at the next General ElectionMr T. D. Burnett, M.P. for Toinuka, announces that, owing to ill-health, he will not be a candidate at next election.
