MONTHLY MEETING CONCLUDED The monthly meeting of the Otago Education Board was concluded this morning, Mr J. Wallace presiding. ATTENDANCE. John E. Ryan (attendance officer) reported for the month ended August 14 that the general attendance had been affected by weather conditions and various forms of illness, mostly influenza. and severe colds. During the month ho visited several of the city and suburban schools, also Baidu Iha and Oamaru. GENERAL. Mr A. M. Ross (Presbyterian Sunday School Union) applied for the use of the Albany Street School building tor a camp, the School Committee approving.—Granted. The Educational Institute asked that in any future inquiry concerning charges made against teachers, the board adopt the. principle of asking a representative of the institute to be present. Mr Wilkinson thought that the request was a reflection on the hoard, as in all cases where the institute had asked for a. representative to bo present the request had been granted.—Declined.
