MALE CHOIR CONCERT

It can be considered a compliment to that fine body of experienced singers that constitute the Dunedin Male Choir that during its lengthy career of just on forty years the music that has graced its programmes can certainly be classed as musically good and never of the trashy order. The society is fortunate in'having a goodly array of subscribing friends, who show by l their appreciation that good music, adequately portrayed, is preferable to the modern nothings that tickle the fancy for the moment but leave no impression. For the important occasion of the 150th concert, which is to take place in His Majesty’s Theatre on Monday evening next, a splendid programme has been arranged, and patrons can anticipate a musical treat. _ The choir is in great form and numerically strong, as all recent concerts have abundantly proved, and the varied works that will be given by the choir should undoubtedly receive tliat treatment that the public appreciates. The choir will be assisted by the following soloists:—Miss Meda Paine. Dr V. E. Galway, Messrs Trevor De Clive Lowe, H. Prowse, F; C. Cooper, and W. Gemmoll, while Messrs Edwards, Garden, Sinclair, and Macpherson will constitute the quartet party. The box plan is at The Bristol, where souvenir programmes may also be obtained.
