ADMIRALTY'S CAMPAIGN 11 CLASS DESTROYERS. Press Association—By Teleffrapb— Copyright. LONDON, August 17. (Received August 18, at 12.50 p.m.) In connection with the Admiralty’s economy campaign, the Portsmouth dockyards have been ordered not in future to handle R class destroyers. The ‘ Dailv Chronicle ’ regards this as an indication of the scrapping of fifty .vessels of that class, which were built during the war-time emergency.— A. and N.Z. Cable. [The Commander-m-Chief at Portsmouth issued an Admiralty official letter stating that the rebuilding of the fleet was seriously burdening the financial resources of the country, and that the Admiralty trusted that the officers and men would do their utmost to minimise any reduction in efficiency that might ensue, and chcorlnlly accept any accompanying inconvenience and discomfort.] _____
