MOTOR BUS DEVELOPMENT
LONDON, August 5, “ My experience in New York and London has convinced me that motor buses in the future will he a serious competitor against railways and tramways,” said Mr J. H. Cann, ex-Rail-way Commissioner of New South Wales, to tho special representative of the ' Sun ’ to-day. “ Buses are continually extending tho, area of their operations, and ultimately will oust tramways, and also shortdistance railway traffic. Motor cars are playing an enormous part in the rural development of America. If the Commonwealth and States constructed great arterial roads through Australia they would do more than railways to develop the iiontinenl.”
