MANCHESTER UNITY

Tlio Milton Lodge meeting was well attended, Bro. 11. H. T. Baird presiding. Five candidates were initiated and four were proposed. The committee reported that arrangements were well in hand for the annual ball.

Loyal Boxburgh Lodge was presided over by Bro. H. Gilchrist. The lodge was in mourning for tho late Bro. Jas. Hand, of Miller’s Fiat, who was a member of tho lodge for thirty-two years. The half-yearly balance-sheet showed that the various funds were in a satisfactory condition. Bro. H. Michelle (Milton Lodge) responded to the visitors’ toast. N. 6. Bro. Macdonald presided over a good attendance at the last meeting of Loyal Prince of Wales Lodge, Port Chalmers. .One candidate was initiated and four were proposed. The Court Pride of Robin Hood, A.0.F., members were welcomed, and a progressive euchre match was held. A close contest resulted in Court Robin Hood being tho winners. A committee was appointed to draw up a scheme to provide an Oddfellows’ children’s Christmas tree. The response so far for funds shows that the necessary £25 will be'raised.

Stuart street lodge room was well filled on the occasion of the monthly official visit to tho Loyal Dunedin Lodge. Tho presence of a largo number from Loyal Mosgiel was specially pleasing. A musical programme was submitted by N.G. Bro. Lawrence and was greatly enjoyed. Bro. A. Burke presided at the piano and also contributed songs and stories. Bro. W. Alexander gave a song, P.G. Glccson a humorous song, P.G. Cameron a recitation, and P.G. Longworth described a visit of the twelve tribes of America. Bro. Wooley gave a mandolin solo, and D.P.G. Bro. 0. Clarke a song. The of G. Sen. Bro. Cameron, owing to his remora! from the district' was received with regret. After a supper had been provided responses were made to tho visitors’ toast by Loyal Centenary, Valley, Mosgiel, ’Milton, Caversham, Albion, and Hand and Heart. Prov. G.M. Bro. A. Wvb’e D.P.G AT.
