(Received August 17, at 10.40 a.m.) Seven inches of rain fell in Kansas Citv during a tornado, which lasted for*six hours. It destroyed everything in its path, which was ten miles wide, through the rich wheat district.—A. and N.Z. Cable. FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE NEW YORK, August 16. (Received August 17, at 10.40 a.m.) Four thousand catt!o_ have been destroyed in Texas following a now outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease ill that State.—A. and N.Z. Gable.
