Replying to a shareholder in that connection the chairman (Mr Roger Sing! said that there had always been a clash of interests, but he did not think the company need fear it in any way. He declared that the report of the Food Commission had enhanced the company’s prestige. He stated that the cold storage accommodation in the country, particularly in London and Liverpool, considerably exceeded the requirements. Some of their stores remained closed. This was a legacy of the war. Tho balance on the working accounts, said the. chairman, was £975,000, which was a record. A dividend of 10 per cent, w&s declared, and £149,000 was carried forward. The business continued to grow. The report and accounts were adopted.—Router.
