The first trouble over the new agreement between the ship owners and the Seamen’s Union has occurred. When the Maheno was duo to sail at 4 o’clock the captain had to pay two men off owing to sickness, and when the company tried to replace them there was no response. the men claimed that as tho vessel was on New Zealand articles tho Seamens Union was entitled to refuse to supply men after the ordinary picking-up hours. The vessel left tho wharf and anchored in the harbor.
