THE FERRY SERVICE.

The \Vahiue, xrom ueiuiig. uiif 1 rived at Lyttelton at 7.20 a.m. to-day, and passengers and mails connected with the 8.50 a.m. express.

The Wingatui is due (according to a, wireless message received by the Union Company) to arrive ai: 7 p.m. from Alckland via ports to discharge part cargo. She will sail lor Bluli next week, but will return on Thursday. She will sail on that day ior Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Turnbull, Martin, and Company^advise that the Romeo, Irom New lock via northern ports of New Zealand, is not now expected here until Tuesday. The Fahika, duo on Monday from Wellington, should sail on Monday night lor Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Napier, and Gisborne. The Storm should arrive on Tuesday from Lyttelton. She will load and sail the same day for Wanganui via ports. The Willaston arrived this morning from Timaru to discharge the local portion of her Pacific Coast cargo. The vessel, berthed at the Victoria wharf, will sail about Wednesday _ lor completion of discharge at Bluff and New Fly mouth. The Opihi, scheduled to arrive on Monday Irom New Plymouth and Nelson, will load at Dunedin, and leave lor Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton to fill up for Wellington and New Plymouth, and Nelson. The Breeze will arrive. on Monday. She will sail on Tuesday for Wanganui via ports. The Waikonaitl is listed to arrive on Wednesday from Timaru to load general cargo for Melbourne and Sydney. She is to sail the same day.

The Shaw, Snvill, and Albion liner Mataica.na, eu route from Liverpool for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, is duo at the northern port on September 10, and here about September 24.

The Gale will sail to-morrow evening fpr Oamaru, 'Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington and Wanganui. The Molmdalo steamed up from Port Chalmers this afternoon, and was berthed at the cross wharf. The Dorset’s sailing for Now Plymouth lias been fixed for Wednesday. This steamer is to leave. Auckland lor Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, and Avoiimouth via Panama on September 22.

The Arctic loft Port Chalmers this morning for Lyttelton, Wellington, Auckland, Pago Pago, and .Honolulu. Tho Moor Line steamer Pearlmoor, at Port Chalmers discharging phosphates, had an uneventful voyage from Nauru island to Lvttolton, but she lost a fortnight at the island owing to winds preventing working. Captain Arthur commands the Pearlmoor, a Hush-deck type steamer, which was built in 192.1. DORSET’S ARRIVAL. The Federal Line steamer Dorset arrived at Port Chalmers from Liverpool via Panama, Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton yesterday, and berthed at tlie George street wharf to discharge tho local portion of her cargo of general merchandise, which she loaded at Glasgow , Newport (Monmouthshire), and Liverpool. The Dorset cleared Liverpool on Juno 13. and had a. fine weather run to Colon, which was reached on June 30. After bunkering the vessel passed through the canal, and cleared Palboa next day. Fine weather prevailed in the Pacific until Thursday, when westerly gales were encountered lasting two days. During that time tho wind blew in florfc r"n s'>u"'W coiiipauied by high head seas, which delayed tho Dorset’s progress considerably. After the storm passed line weather prevailed to Auckland, Captain C. R. Kcfctlcwell is in command of illo Dorset, which will sail early next week for New Plymouth to complete discharge aod commence Homeward loading.

On her recent voyage the Turakum cleared London on July 3, and arrived at Colon on July 19. From" Auckland she is to proceed to Wellington to unload the balance of her cargo.
